Teeds Rise Management Strategy

Wednesday 24 November 2021 BisCAN local residents Judy, Pam, Ian and parish councillors Martin, Lesley and Hazel met with GWT engagement officers Will and Steve to agree a management strategy for Teeds Ruse Nature Reserve and the Eco - Churchyard. In summary we agreed a native hedgerow up the east boundary, a once a year minimal mow, addition of some native wild flowers (bluebells) bird, bat and owl boxes in workshops. In August Pam and Tony Perry recoded the following species

Birds

  • Wood Pigeon

  • Robin

  • Blackbird

  • Stock Dove

  • Nuthatch

  • Mistle Thrush (family party)

  • Great Spotted Woodpecker

  • Jackdaw

Trees/Plants:-

  • Beech

  • Holly

  • Rowan

  • Chestnut type (to be determined)

  • Viburnum Opulus

  • Ash

  • Enchanters Nightshade

  • Ivy

  • Nipplewort

  • Nettle

  • St Johns Wort

  • Arum Lily

  • Verbascum

  • Bramble

  • Herb Robert

At the Teeds Rise Workparty on 23/09, we identified a Garden Spider and a Dark Bush-cricket.
